Roy Maia has literally built his entire life fighting for the rights of the oppressed. His military, intelligence, international security operative and consultant career in 4 continents, on that definition—even before the term “operative” came into common use. Roy Maia began his career on a path that is rare among other executives. Having spent eleven years in the military as a serviceman, Special Forces and Task Force member, and a specialized military contractor, his credentials as a security operative and adviser is one of the world’s top.
Roy’s goal was to complement his natural instincts and savvy with a strong foundation in International Secret Intelligence. The best way to do this, he felt, was to join the “Big Firm” within the international secret intelligence practice. Thus, in the mid 70’s he accepted his first position with Xxxxx where he gained extensive experience and earned promotions to senior operative.
On the partner track at Xxxxx, Roy found himself intrigued by the “world” of international secret intelligence, counter intelligence, operatives, sleepers, provokers, targets and projects he interfaced with daily. Thus, when offered a position within the Xxxxx for the high-status South America project, Roy jumped at the chance. Recognized as a highly-experience military/intelligence adviser for the project.
Roy’s career took a ten-fold leap in responsibility when he was sought out by former associates to accept a Divisional leader’s position with 14 advisers managing over 1700 combatants with AT responsibility. Roy Maia’s career really had nowhere to go but up. He didn’t disappoint, championing the complete overhaul and modernization of the Division’s archaic systems.
Within less than two years, he had led his team’s combat ready, divided in secular combat units, while ensuring a 24X7 reliability of protection, designed in a Special Forces and Task Forces environment.
His groundbreaking work in installing and executing mission-critical systems was recognized by Xxxxx that praised him for “innovative delivery of combat training, achievements and management systems.”
In the beginning of the 80’s, Roy’s career took another leap forward when Xxxxx’s invited him to join a deadly project; the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) & Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) Project, which was known at the time as one of the “hottest” international projects, with a reputation for hiring the world’s top assassins and terror talents.
As a global authority in AT operations, Roy built a clandestine AT operation from the ground up, and provided pivotal leadership in building AT systems that integrated eight nations over the course of five years. With the well-publicized demise of these organizations and their operatives, Roy moved on as the CEO of Eagle Group International, Inc.
More recently, Roy is deeply involved in driving both acquisitional and organic growth strategies as a member of the Eagle executive team that grew the company three-fold to recognition one of the most renowned international security and protection companies in the world.
